Lead internal counsel in connection with five International Chamber of Commerce arbitrations associated with joint venture agreement disputes related to telecommunication operations in Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Chad and Yemen with claims totaling over US$3 billion. External counsel to the Egyptian Government on the United Nations, Egyptian, Iraqi and other Middle East law aspects of a multi-million dollar arbitration before the United Nations Compensation Commission, and to the Kuwaiti Government in a multi-million dollar construction contract arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce.

Primary external counsel for a range of corporate international transactions (joint venture, agency, franchise and distribution agreements, cross-border financing, mergers and acquisitions) to several Fortune 500 and multi-national companies, including Bechtel, Brown & Root, Cooper Tires, Caltex, Ashland Oil, Martin Marietta, Raytheon, Starbucks, Brown & Williamson Tobacco, Radio Shack, Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Abbott Labs and Eli-Lilly.

Vice President, Legal to a multi-billion dollar international mobile communications carrier based in Cairo. Lead counsel for the acquisition and financing of numerous mobile operations licenses and equity interests in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian subcontinent, totaling approximately US$ 4 billion.

General Counsel to a global satellite telephony service based in Dubai. Responsible for all legal and business development matters of a state of the art global mobile satellite telecommunications business serving the Arab Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.

Regional Counsel to a major tobacco manufacturer based in London. Responsible for the management of all legal matters in the Middle East, Africa & Turkey region of the third largest tobacco company worldwide.

Primary external counsel responsible for all technology and intellectual property development and licensing arrangements to numerous Silicon Valley based technology startups, including Cisco, Oracle, E*Trade, Quote.com, Genentech and Yahoo!

Admitted to the State Bars of California, New York and Illinois.

Member of the Alexandria Human Rights Association (Egypt), 2000 – present.

Board Member of the United Nations Education Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) USA (1996-1998).

Arab American Law Students Association (Founder), Bay Area Arab American Lawyers Forum (Founder), National Council of Arab Americans (Founding Member).
