Darah joined ADSERO – Ragy Soliman & Partners at its establishment in 2019, first as an Associate, then a Managing Associate, and is currently a Senior Associate. She has profound experience in providing her clients with comprehensive legal support concerning technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), and advising clients on their day-to-day general privacy, corporate and commercial law matters.
Darah is leading the TMT practice in the firm and regularly advises multinational companies on doing business in Egypt, assisting and handling their corporate and commercial matters. Darah has represented and currently represents major TMT companies such as Amazon, Google, GTH, TikTok, Uber, and a multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related products and services. Finally, Darah has extensive experience in the field of employment and advises local and international companies as well as international law firms.
Darah also provided legal advice and consultation to national and international clients corporate laws involving incorporation of companies, due diligence, taxes, demerger and capital market.
Moreover, Darah assists and works with local start-ups to help grow their business in Egypt.
Darah has more than six years of experience general commercial, banking & finance, M&As and capital market with top tier law firms in Egypt.
Darah speaks fluent Arabic and English and is qualified to practice law in Egypt.
Darah was seconded to Uber in 2020 and 2021, where she assisted the regulatory team on MENA matters for seven months and assisted the data protection and privacy teams on EMEA matters for two months.
Before joining Adsero, Darah has participated in various high-profile matters and transactions. These included advising IFC, EBRD, Proparco and other development financial institutions on financing 30 Solar Power Projects under phase two of the feed-in tariff (FiT) program in Benban – Aswan, Egypt; assisting in the establishment of Egypt’s first coal-fired power project in Ayoun Moussa; and advising on the restructuring of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company.
Representation of major TMT companies such Amazon, Google, GTH, TikTok and Uber on TMT related matters, especially data protection, cyber security, day-to-day operations, and general corporate and commercial matters.
Representation of a major local telecommunications service provider and assisting on day-to-day operations and restructuring of their data protection and privacy structure and compliance.
Assisting Minly Inc. on day-to-day operations and general corporate and commercial matters, including drafting their terms of use and privacy policies.
Assisted on the acquisition of Rich Foods Industries by Ezdehar Egypt Mid-Cap Fund from 2019 through 2020. Rich Food is a leading convenience food producer focused on the chilled and frozen animal protein segment in Egypt, including beef, poultry, and turkey.
Assisted on the acquisition of a majority stake in Ismailia Agricultural and Industrial Investments (Atyab) by UAE based Agathia from 2019 through 2020.
