Senior Associate

Menna has been part of the senior leadership team of ADSERO – Ragy Soliman & Partners since its establishment in 2019. Menna is currently a Senior Associate leading the E-Commerce, Retail and Logistics practice. Menna has more than six years of experience in general corporate and commercial, consumer protection, data privacy, TMT and M&As with top tier law firms in Egypt.

Menna has substantial experience providing her clients with comprehensive legal support in doing business in Egypt, particularly matters pertaining to general compliance and regulatory, employment, and day-to-day corporate and commercial law. Menna represents and provides legal support to major e-commerce, retail and logistics companies, including Amazon, Google and EMPG.

Menna speaks fluent Arabic and English and is qualified to practice law in Egypt.

From 2018-2019, Menna was seconded on Amazon’s legal team in Egypt to act as their in-house counsel advising on all matters of Egyptian law. Menna’s duties included contract drafting, negotiations, employment, TMT matters, direct interaction with governmental authorities and advising on day-to-day corporate and commercial matters. Menna continues to represent and provide legal support to Amazon.

Advising (with Clyde & Co) on a major educational institute’s potential acquisition of government-affiliated schools.

Participated in the private-public dialogue process (in collaboration with Moharram and Partners) on the Egyptian consumer protection law draft and its executive regulations and, currently, the e-commerce law draft.

Represented an array of clients, including BasharSoft, Al Abbar Enterprises, OSI Rapiscan, TUI, NOMAC, Karm Solar Group, EnerMech, Clariant, Neovia, Amgen, LC Waikiki, Azadea, Mass Group Holding and Bloomberg on various general corporate and employment issues and providing day-to-day commercial law advice, including reviewing and drafting agreements.

Advising Attijariwafa Bank on its acquisition of Barclays Egypt, which included performing extensive due diligence on Barclays Egypt on all legal aspects.

Advising (with Allen & Overy LLP) Alabbar Enterprises LLC on its acquisition of a 69% stake in Middle East fast-food operator Kuwait Food Co. (Americana), valued at about USD 1.8 billion.

Advising General Electric Co. (with Slaughter and May) on the Egyptian Law aspects of its global acquisition of Alstom SA’s power business, with an estimated value of USD 9.5 billion.

Seconded to Slaughter and May’s EXPLORE Placement Programme for associates in London. The three-week program included training on technical and commercial matters; April to May 2019.

Team member on the Cairo University team at the University of Oxford’s Price Media Law Moot Court Competition 2014/2015. First team from the Middle East Region to qualify to the Octo-Finals.
